Today Summit's capabilities extend from the original base of sub-contract machinery to a wide variety of sheet metal fabrications.At the forefront of these is the production of a range of custom designed Air/Air Heat Exchangers for electrical machine cooling.
These Coolers are designed and manufactured around the physical and thermal requirements of the customer, including any pressure drop, vibration or noise level constraints.
The air-to-air heat exchanger uses a tubular design. The gas to be cooled passes across the tube bundle. Cooling takes place by forcing ambient air through the tubes by using a number of axial fans.
A variety of tube materials can be used including galvanized or stainless steels and Aluminium.
Summit Air/Air Coolers are regularly supplied into hazardous area locations world-wide including low temperature environments.

To complement the large array of machinery available to the customer, here at Summit Engineering we also have a dedicated Design team. This facility enables us to use our Solid works 3D modelling not only to produce customer components accurately and quickly, but also allows us to use our expertise to work alongside our customers and provide solutions to design problems. We are also able to import and export working models using our 3D graphics package, making the transfer of information between customer and supplier trouble free.
